In celebration of her birthday, the Walton County Board of Commissioners named a bridge after her. ribbon cutting was held on August 24 to honor the oldest person alive.
Cooper was born on 1896 in Sulivan, Tennessee. During the World War I she moved to Monroe to work as a teacher. She married in 1924 and had four children.
When asked about her secrets she said that she only minds her own business and never ate junk foods.
