Jesse Robredo laid to rest

Interior and Local Government secretary Jesse Robredo was laid to rest, on Tuesday, August 28, 2012.

A requiem mass was first held at the Basilica Minore de Nuestra Señora de Peñafrancia where people including government officials, friends, and even supporters gathered together.

The president Benigno Aquino III also conferred the late government official with the Legion of Honor with the rank of chief commander. The wife accepted the award and gave her speech where he thanked everyone for the support.

The president also gave his eulogy for Robredo.

The PNP gave Robredo a 9-gun salute before leaving the Basilica grounds, a three-volley salute was also given inside the crematorium.

The state funeral was ended by folding the flag covering the casket of the secretary which was presented by the president to the Mrs. Leni.

His remains were brought to Naga Imperial Crematory and Columbary after the mass.
