UP Pep's costume was a rush

The UP Pep Squad dominated the 2012 UAAP Cheerdancing Competition winning all three categories.

But, hidden behind that success was a rushed costume.

According to the designer of the costume, Joel Acebuche he was only given some 48-hours to complete the costume.
The UP Pep Squad’s coach texted me that they had a fashion emergency. I thought it was minor—that their costumes (which were by a different designer) got ripped and needed to be repaired.
When he got in the UP gym, they said that they needed a new costume as the materials were too thin and will not going to take the demands of their routines.

The original wasa two-way spendex, but he revised and made it as one.

From Divisoria, Acebuche went to the SM Mall of Asia Arena and arrived to the place 2-hours before the competition starts. He finished the costumes and makeup (he was also in charge) by the time FEU was performing.
I felt so tired. Pagod, pressure from the 48 hours, naiiyak ako. I got so emotional due to all the tension. Afterwards, I was so proud kasi hindi mo mapapatawaran ang dedikasyon ng mga bagets na ito. Dedication to do what has to be done for UP’s sake.
He said that what happened was a humbling experience and this can be a way to payback to the university to gave him the education.
