Nicolette Erika Ambulo won the "Stunner of the Year" award for the recently concluded Samsung 2012 UAAP Cheerdance Competition.
Ambulo was a 19-year-old sophomore student of the Diliman Campus where she's taking Bachelor in Elementary Education majoring in early grades.
In an interview by the ABS-CBN News, Ambulo said that she was one of the members who cried when they found out that the hairstyle was shaving their hairs.
Honestly, when Coach Lala (Perena) showed us the hairstyle for this year's competition, isa ako sa mga umiyak talaga. But since I was convinced that it is for our piece and it is a tribute to Oble (Oblation), I agreed to have it shaved. It was a really big sacrifice, especially for us girls but our hair will grow back anyway.
But eventually they all agreed.
When asked if she got more attention after she won the award, she said yes. But, she noted that she never got awkward with the attention as it's a dream of her to perform in front of many people and in camera.
