Tagalog-speaking Russian welcomes PNoy in Russia

Our president Benigno Aquino III was in Russia for the 20th Asia Pacific Economic Corporation or APEC Summit.

One of the Russians who will serve the president will be Andrey Khanov and he's no ordinary teenager.

Khanov is a 1p-year-old full blooded-Russian who can speak FIlipino fluently. He is studying at the Institute of Asian and African Studies in Moscow and taking up Oriental Studies. He learned Filipino as he chose this language on his curriculum.

In an interview by Lynda Jumilla of ABS-CBN News he chose Filipino language as very few Russians know something about Philippines and it's culture. He admitted that at first he struggled, but now it's easy for him.
Noong unang panahon mahirap ito, pero pagkatapos ng ilang panahon naugnay ako sa wikang tagalog, ito'y hindi masyadong mahirap.
Khanov added that he has been studying Filipno for two years now and revealed that his teacher was also a Russian.

He will work as a bell man in the hotel where the Filipino president is working.
