FEU confirms stabbing incident inside campus

An official of the Far Eastern University (FEU) confirmed the reported news that a student was stubbed inside the campus.

In an interview by the ABS-CBN News to Director Albert Cabasada III of the FEU Admissions and External Relations Office said that the FEU authorities are now cooperating with the investigators.

He added that he have talked with UST following the reports that the victim was an IT student of the UST. They also have gotten in touch with the family of the victim.

Joanne Lourdes Concepcion Reyes, 20, just left the FEU auditorium at about 6:20-6:30 p.m. when suspects wearing nursing uniform blocked her, according to  companion.


Here is the full statement of FEU:
Far Eastern University regrets the alleged stabbing incident that occurred on campus last night, October 2, 2012, and is taking the matter very seriously. All the initial facts pertaining to the case were gathered and turned over to the authorities last night."
FEU is giving its full cooperation in the investigation making all its resources, including on-campus CCTV footages and access to witnesses available to the investigating team of the Philippine National Police.'
The lead investigation is being undertaken by Captain Antonio Naag, head of the University Belt Area Police Community Precinct of the PNP.'
The FEU Student Affairs and Security Offices assisted the victim immediately and brought her to the Chinese General Hospital. The personal details of the victim have been provided as well to UST for their information and verification as initial reports indicate that she is a student of that University. The victim has been reported to be in stable condition at present time.'
The Far Eastern University is taking steps to augment even further overall safety and security in the campus. Student monitoring and counseling are being undertaken, as well.
