Brillante Mendoza Film to Compete in Venice Film Fest

Despite unable to made it in the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), the film "Thy Womb" was invited to compete in Venice Film Fest.

This film is directed by internationally acclaimed director Brillante Mendoza and stars Nora Aunor.

This announcement was made by Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) - the co-producer of the film.

According to the festival's website, Brillante’s opus will be under "Venezia 69" (Main Competition), an "International competition of feature films presented as world premieres," along with 16 others from across Asia, Europe and the US.

Meanwhile, another Nora Aunor film entitled "Himala" will be exhibited in the same film fest for the "Classic" division.
